We took a morning guided tour of the Hassan II Mosque. This is built right on the Atlantic Ocean, is the 3rd largest Mosque in the world and has the tallest Minaret in the world. It is also the only one with an elevator to the top. The Mosque was built in honor of King Hassan II’s 60th birthday. He paid for part of it and then all citizens were required to donate something to finance the rest of the price. It is incredibly beautiful inside and out. After returning, we packed the rental car we are using for the rest of our adventure with Diana and Abdou. It will be their transportation for the next 30 days as they travel all around.
