We then drove on to Fes. Many hours driving on winding, narrow roads through the mountains. Thank you Diana for driving us through them. After a hard search, we found a very nice hotel with vacancy. Fes is having an international religious music festival and the rooms are mostly sold out two months in advance we found out. We luckily got a nice one because the person at a full hotel recommended we call the Ryad Ghita because she knew them. They first told Abdou that they were full, but when he told them they were recommended, there were magically two rooms available for two nights. We were told that the hotel was not far and Abdou obtained directions as we strolled through the medina. Finally a man escorted us there, but we figured we passed through most every alleyway in the medina to get there. Norm’s new rule of traveling: It’s not far means very far.
