Today we slept in again and Kathy made us a reservation with a tour group to see the Vatican/St. Peter’s. It was amazing! Our tour guide, Dana, is from Chicago and she’s been studying art history abroad in Rome for a year. Her summer job is giving tours (sounds like fun). We spent about 3 ½ hours touring the museum, Sistine Chapel, and the Basilica. We saw the statue of Apollo and the torso that Michelangelo based his Christ figure on in “The Last Judgment” in the Sistine Chapel.
