Then we were off on our road trip again, but the road seemed to have as many donkey carts as it did cars on the way to Marrakesh, another imperial city. Current population is about 1 million and the city was founded in 1062 and still has 12 kilometers of worn ramparts from the past. The center of life is in the Dfemaa el-Fna, the main square which really comes to life in the evening with music of all sorts everywhere, and all expecting money, of course. As this area is filled with open air restaurants, we chose to have dinner here. Then back to the apartment that we have for a couple days.
