We spent the morning in the Keukenhof garden. This is a 65 acre botanic garden with more than 6 million tulips and other flowering plants. It was started in 1949 by 10 flower growers who decided to show off the local beauty of the flowers. Today, over 100 growers exhibit at the Gardens. On the way, we passed miles of flowers in the bulb grower's fields. There are 10 miles of walking paths in the gardens. We saw many fields where the flowers are grown and all were in bloom with different color tulips and hyacinths. The Keukenhof is only open for 8 weeks per year when the flowers are blooming. They are planted as early, mid and late blooming flowers. It is open until May 20. This is the place that Norm’s Mom always wanted to see. It was just coincidence that we visited it on the same date that she passed away. What timing. This place is beautiful! This will be our last day on the boat. We leave in the morning and go back to visit our friends. That will be fun too.
