When we arrived at the Eiffel Tower we decided to get off and stand in one of the 4 long lines to get a ticket to go to the top. The signs kept flashing that the top was closed as there were too many people. When we finally arrived at the booth, the man said we could only purchase a ticket to the second floor at this time, but could buy one to the top there and wait in line again. Finally we are on an elevator and get off at the second level. We were on the top tier of this level and the outside platform was open as the bottom tier was underneath. Norm was getting a bit white knuckled again, so Cindy told him to go down to the lower level where it was more caged in, then he was fine. It was an amazing view of the city. It was windy and we were chilled again, so we went in search of hot chocolate. After, we decided to go to the top. Norm purchased the tickets and we waited again. We were glad we waited as you could see so much more from this observation area and all the sites were described. After about 21/2 hours at the Eiffel Tower, we jumped on another trolley bus to see the rest of the highlights, Esplanade and Place of the Invalides which is a military hospital and where the tomb of Napolean rests, and Rodin’s “Thinker” in the courtyard of the museum.
