From here, we traveled a few kilometers to Aghia Triada ruins. This site is also a large site with a temple, shops, soldier barracks and homes. In the middle of the site is the church of Saint George Galatas. The church has 14th century paintings on the walls and ceiling. The Minoan settlement here was built in 1600 BC and burned in 1450. The site is still in good condition with floors, vases, roofs and benches still intact. This site is just as impressive as Phaistos even though Phaistos gets the claim to be second in importance after Knossos.
