After that, we drove to Kokkinos Pirgos for lunch at the Red Castle Sea Food restaurant. It is situated on the Libyan Sea in a picturesque setting. Lunch was very good and did not even have heads on the fish. All in all this was a very good day. We only struck out one time on our journey. We drove back to Herakleion on very high mountainous switchbacks until the city came into view and the land leveled.
