Across from the Israeli Parliament, Knesset, is a Menorah sculpture by an Israeli artist, which was a present from Britain after Israel’s independence, which reflects the history of the Jewish people. Our guide explained that the 7 armed candelabra is the number of perfection, representing all of the cosmos in 7 elements. The sculpted history includes the uprising of the Ghetto of Warsaw, Ezekiel’s resurrection of the dry bones, the Ten Commandments and Moses, Hillel the Elder explaining to the student the most important of the Jewish religion, “to love thy neighbor as thyself”, the building of the State by the Zionists, etc.
