Museum day in Santiago. We toured the fine arts museum, the national museum on the Plaza de Armas, and the Pre-Columbian museum. The coolest by far was the pre-Columbian(actually pre Columbus). It has artifacts from the Maya, Toltec, Inca and other original indigenous cultures. We even saw a human mummy from centuries ago. We walked for miles today. It took almost an hour to walk from the museum to our hotel at the Crown Plaza. We took a cab to the Hyatt Regency hotel to join the rest of the Antarctica tour group. Santiago has 5 million people with a climate similar to LA. It was founded in 1541, by Spanish Captain Pedro de Valdivia, but looks newer.
