We went to the landmine museum. This was started by Aki Ra, a man who was a child soldier for the Khmer Rouge and the Vietnamese army and had laid many land mines himself. Now he disables land mines and helps kids who have been injured by mines. They estimate that there are still over 4 million buried land mines in Cambodia after the civil war. They had to clear mines to be able to open many temples for the tourists. We even saw bullet holes on one of the temples.
