We walked Clockwise around the pagoda. The week is 8 days, representing the 8 directions, Wednesday is divided between morning(elephant with tusks) and evening(elephant without tusks). Animals represent all the days. We visited on Saturday and everyone was worshipping, praying and giving donations. There is also the gold leaf donation counter. There were Buddha souvenirs made from flower ashes. The wood carvings in the one shrine were from 1911. The gold leaf is hand made in Mandalay, 24K and it takes 5 hours to pound the gold that thin for 20 cents for a small leaf. Bamboo scaffolding is used for the renovations.
