Sept 3- We traveled from Bangkok to Siem Reap, Cambodia. We decided to have a day of rest once we arrived in the beautiful hotel Le Meridien. Cindy napped and Norm read. Then it started raining as soon as we went to the pool, figures. This is the land of temple ruins, 60 just in Angkor vicinity. The central market area is simply open stores on ground setting. The average person’s annual income is only $300-$400. There are no ATM’s and our world calling card does not include access from Cambodia, nor will it work in Myanmar. So, just web updates and e-mail. The hotels and restaurants are very nice. Everything is priced in US $ here and they prefer to receive our dollars versus their riels. When we pay for something with our money, our change is in their riels, though. Siem Reap has a population of about 100,000. All of Cambodia has 4 million people.
