Sept 10- Saturday morning we had a quick tour of Yangon. We drove through Indiantown with 1 million people. They were the soldiers of the British in the 1800’s and stayed behind. There is colonial/British architecture in this area. Passed the Sri Kali Hindu Temple and under the bridge that separates this area from Chinatown. This is the night life area of Yangon. Then to Shwedagon Pagoda where relics(The staff-walking stick of Kakusanda Buddha, the water filter of Kawnagamana Buddha, The netherrobe of Kassapa Buddha and 8 hairs of Gautama Buddha) of the 4 enlightened Buddha’s are contained. This stupa was built 2500 years ago. We passed the Holy Banyon tree which was brought from India in 1926.
